Moms, Here’s How to Rock a Cardigan This Spring

Every mom has a cardigan. Why shouldn’t she? They’re timeless and the right one can go with almost any occasion. However, cardigans aren’t a one-size-fits-all type of clothing. The shapes, sizes, designs, and materials are all different. How a cardigan will look on a person will depend on a number of factors, most important of which are body type and the entire outfit.

For waist-length or cropped cardigans, it’s important to never match them with long tops. The length differences make the body look weird. Waist-length and cropped cardigans belong with fit and flare-styled dresses. They also look good with high-waist skirts. The rule is the hem of the cardigan should be at most, only a few inches past the band of the dress or skirt.

The oversized Aztec cardigans have become popular in the past years, but it’s easy to make a mistake with them. Loose or baggy bottoms are a no-no, as well as boyfriend jeans and maxi skirts. These combinations will make anyone look wide. Skinny jeans are a perfect match for them.

Wrap cardigans are like Aztec cardigans, with the same length. They are less bulky though. Avoid wearing wrap cardigans with short skirts. Instead, look for dark jeans and pants that lengthen the figure.

Boyfriend cardigans on the other hand shouldn’t be worn with full skirts or dresses since it also makes the person look wide downstairs. Jeans, knee-length pencil skirts, and even shorts are the way to go.
